Victrix Dark Age Huts 28mm Terrain Kit
Build a Dark Age settlement with this set of three 28mm huts from Victrix. Based on Grubenhauser, traditional pit houses found across Western Europe, these buildings provide suitable terrain for historical wargames, including Pillage, and fantasy tabletop settings.
Grubenhauser were A-frame structures built over shallow sunken floors. Used for centuries, they served various purposes within settlements, including accommodation, workshops and storage. Their simple construction and distinctive thatched roofs make them recognisable features of early medieval village scenes.
The Victrix kit includes enough components to construct three individual huts, with alternative wall designs, doors and accessories allowing each building to have a different appearance.
Customisable Dark Age Buildings
Rather than producing three identical structures, the kit provides a selection of building components that can be combined to create different hut designs.
Three alternative front and back wall sets represent different traditional construction methods: wattle and daub, wooden planks and wooden logs. Four door options provide further variation, while optional thatched lean-to shelters can be added to the buildings.
Additional wooden log wall supports and roof weights provide further detailing options. These features allow the huts to represent different buildings within a settlement while retaining a consistent architectural style.

28mm Wargaming Terrain
