Kitty Hawk Models Plastic Model Kit

Su-30SM Flanker-H (1/48)

The Su-30SM Flanker-H is a modernised multirole fighter developed for the Russian Aerospace Forces, combining the long-range capability of the Flanker family with advanced avionics, sensors and manoeuvrability. With its twin-seat layout and thrust-vectoring engines, it represents one of the most capable operational Flanker variants.

This 1/48 scale kit from Kitty Hawk Models captures the distinctive features of the Su-30SM, including its refined airframe, canard foreplanes and tandem cockpit. Finely recessed panel lines and accurate proportions allow the aircraft’s size and complexity to come through without overwhelming the build.

  • 1/48 scale plastic model kit
  • Accurate Su-30SM Flanker-H configuration
  • Detailed tandem cockpit
  • Canard-equipped modernised airframe
  • Fine recessed surface detail throughout
  • Decals for operational aircraft

History

The Su-30SM was developed as a domestic Russian variant derived from export Su-30 designs, tailored specifically to the requirements of the Russian Aerospace Forces. Entering service in the early 2010s, it introduced advanced avionics, improved radar systems and thrust-vectoring engines, significantly enhancing manoeuvrability and combat flexibility.

Designed for air superiority, strike and maritime roles, the Su-30SM has been actively deployed in operational theatres, including Syria, demonstrating its versatility and endurance. Its two-seat configuration allows complex missions to be managed more effectively, reinforcing the Flanker’s evolution from a Cold War interceptor into a fully modern, networked multirole combat aircraft.
