Description
Roden Fairchild HC-123B Provider US Coast Guard 1/72 Model Kit
The Roden Fairchild HC-123B Provider (062) is a 1/72 scale plastic model kit representing the US Coast Guard version of the Fairchild Provider military transport aircraft. This release focuses on the HC-123B designation, making it a specific subject for modellers interested in American military and government service aviation.
The Provider is associated with the post-war generation of American military transport aircraft. Roden’s HC-123B release represents the aircraft in US Coast Guard service, providing an alternative subject to the more familiar combat aircraft often found in Cold War aviation collections.
Fairchild HC-123B Provider Aircraft
The Fairchild HC-123B Provider belongs to the C-123 Provider aircraft family. The Provider was developed as a military transport aircraft, and the HC-123B designation identifies the particular version represented by this model.
Unlike fighter aircraft designed primarily for aerial combat, transport aircraft were developed around the movement of personnel and equipment. This gives the Provider a different place within the history of military aviation.
The HC-123B is particularly relevant to modellers collecting different versions of American transport aircraft. Its US Coast Guard association also distinguishes it from Provider models representing other branches of American service.
US Coast Guard Aviation
The United States Coast Guard operates aircraft as part of its wider maritime responsibilities. Its aviation history includes aircraft used for transport and other service duties, making Coast Guard subjects an interesting area of American aviation modelling.
Roden’s HC-123B Provider represents this branch of US aviation rather than a conventional air force combat aircraft. It can form part of a collection concentrating on American service aircraft, military transports or post-war aviation.
The HC-123B designation is an important identifying feature of this release, allowing the aircraft to be distinguished from other members of the Fairchild Provider family.
1/72 Scale Plastic Aircraft Kit
Produced by Roden in 1/72 scale, this plastic model kit represents the Fairchild HC-123B Provider as an aircraft for assembly and painting.
The scale allows the completed model to be displayed alongside other 1/72 aircraft kits, maintaining consistent proportions within a collection of American military and service aircraft.
Modelling glue is required for assembly, while paint is needed to finish the aircraft. The subject combines the Fairchild Provider transport aircraft with the specific US Coast Guard HC-123B designation.
