Red Fox Studio 1/72 WWII German Brick Base Type 1
Create a brick-paved setting for a 1/72 WWII German diorama with the Red Fox Studio Type 1 Brick Base. The 300 x 230mm surface features a colourful printed design with a three-dimensional effect, providing defined groundwork on which to build the rest of the scene.
The brick design is printed on 5mm thick extruded PVC. This material can be cut and scaled to suit the planned composition, so the base can be adapted when the complete 300 x 230mm surface is larger than the area required.
Brick Groundwork for 1/72 Displays
The Type 1 pattern provides a prepared scenic surface for WWII German subjects in 1/72 scale. It can form the main groundwork for the display or provide a section of brick paving within a larger layout, depending on how the finished diorama is arranged.
Using the complete base gives a continuous 300 x 230mm area, while its cuttable construction allows the shape and dimensions to be adjusted for smaller scenes. The three-dimensional printed effect adds visual definition to the brickwork while leaving scope for additional scenery and personal finishing.
Painting and Weathering Options
The surface is resistant to UV rays and to various paints and washes. Further paint effects and washes can therefore be applied to introduce tonal variation or coordinate the brickwork with the surrounding elements of the diorama.
The printed base has a semi-gloss finish. Applying a coat of matt varnish is recommended for a more realistic appearance, helping to reduce unwanted sheen while retaining the detail and three-dimensional effect of the printed surface.
Part of the Red Fox Studio range, the Type 1 Brick Base combines a 300 x 230mm printed design with adaptable 5mm extruded PVC construction. It can be used at its supplied size or trimmed to provide the required brick groundwork for a customised 1/72 WWII German diorama.
