Airbrush Paints for Models

Vallejo Model Air paints are formulated for application through an airbrush. They can be used for base colours, camouflage patterns, colour transitions and other sprayed finishes, depending on your equipment and technique.

Although Model Air is supplied ready for airbrush use, results can vary with the airbrush, nozzle, air pressure and working conditions. Mix the paint thoroughly and follow the instructions on the individual product. If adjustment is required, use a compatible product and test the mixture before applying it to your model.

Individual Vallejo Model Air Colours

Individual bottles let you select the specific shades required for a build or replace frequently used colours. Search by colour name or Vallejo reference number, then review the product listing to confirm that it matches your intended scheme.

Vallejo Model Air Paint Sets

A Vallejo Model Air set groups multiple colours together for a particular painting requirement or theme. Contents differ between sets, so check the individual listing carefully rather than assuming that a set includes every colour, thinner, cleaner or auxiliary product you may need.

Choosing Colours and Using a Paint Chart

A Vallejo Model Air paint chart can help identify colour names and reference numbers, but colours displayed on a screen or printed page may not reproduce the applied finish exactly. The underlying surface, primer, number of coats, application method and lighting can all affect how a finished colour appears.

• Check the colour reference in your model instructions.
• Match the full Vallejo number as well as the colour name.
• Review the individual product details before ordering.
• Test the paint on a spare part or sample surface first.
• Allow each coat to dry before assessing the final colour.

Preparing to Airbrush Vallejo Model Air

Prepare the model surface and airbrush before painting. Mix the paint thoroughly, apply controlled coats and follow the product guidance for drying, thinning and cleaning. Appropriate ventilation and protective equipment should be used whenever airbrushing.
